Shopping & local crafts.

Avoid the tourist traps & the mass produced tat.We can advise you where to buy local crafts & souvenirs at reasonable prices.

For example:

Balloon Trips

We work directly with a trusted balloon company that offers flights over the Theban mountains where you can see a variety of temples , Necropolis , Deir El Medina and other famous sights. There are 2 morning flights - sunrise & a later flight. Prices are according to the season . Example Low season $27 dollars per person.

Camel / Donkey / Horse riding

We regularly work with a stable who offers rides on horses, camels or donkeys on the West Bank.

All the animals are well-cared for and calm. Suitable for adults and children.

Restaurants& Cafés

We will be pleased to advise you on authentic local restaurants & cafés which offer freshly-prepared food at honest prices. Tayeb has an extensive menu & delivers freshly prepared meals to the felucca and river taxi.

Hassan welcomes you in his shop selling authentic natural oils for aromatherapy or perfume. he also sells dried herbs & incense. He is very knowledgeable and can advise you in both English & Egyptian.

In the cooler months it's great to explore the West bank on a bicycle. We can organize bike rentals at $6 for a full day. If you are staying at the Villa Nakhil they will be delivered to & picked up at the villa at no extra charge.

Tayeb welcomes you to the Restaurant Paris opposite the Memnon Statues - pictured fresh beef grill and roasted pigeon. The views of the Theban mountains from the covered terrace are stunning. We use his delivery service for lunches/dinners on our felucca.
